Hana Singer hands over conflict victim’s concern to Guterres

Kathmandu, Nov 1: The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Nepal Hana Singer-Hamdy has handed over the memorandum submitted by various conflict victims organizations addressed to the Secretary-General Antonio Guterres outlining their demands.

In a tweet, Ms Singer has said that the needs and priorities of the conflict victims are at the heart of Transitional Justice-related discussion in Nepal.

Secretary-General Guterres is leaving Kathmandu today after a four day official visit of Nepal.

Various conflict victims organizations were demanding to submit their memorandums to Secretary-General Guterres and raise voice over the proposed Transitional Justice law that is pending in parliament.

However, at the address at parliament on Tuesday, Secretary-General Guterres has hoped that UN would be happy to cooperate with Nepal for the smooth transition of the past conflict and lasting peace will be prevailed.
