Kaski, Feb 5: Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel has claimed that the government was planning to make the health sector more systematic by ensuring everyone’s access to medical facilities.
Launching the HPV vaccination campaign against cervical cancer at Shitaladevi Secondary School in Pokhara metropolitan city-12 on Wednesday, Minister Paudel said the coverage of health insurance would be increased gradually. He said, “Health sector improvement is the highest priority of the government.”
The Health Minister further said at a time when many women are losing lives to cancer in Nepal, the vaccination campaign would help build robust health. The government is ready to provide free treatment to those who have been diagnosed with cancer and are unable to get treatment, he assured.
About 23,748 girls will be vaccinated during the HPV vaccination campaign in Pokhara city. On the occasion, Mayor Dhan Raj Acharya said that the vaccination programme was carried out by deploying 344 health workers and 688 volunteers in 275 schools and 47 health institutions in the metropolis.#nepal #health #rss
