Kathmandu, June 28: The monsoon winds are currently affecting the Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, along with parts of Gandaki and eastern Lumbini provinces.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has indicated that the Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces will experience similar weather patterns in the coming days.
While the Terai region of Sudurpashchim Province remains mostly clear, other areas are experiencing partial cloud cover, with light rain reported in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
The department has issued warnings for moderate rain and snow, accompanied by thunder and lightning, particularly in hilly and Himalayan regions. The Terai is also expected to see moderate rain with stormy conditions.
There is a potential for heavy rain in certain locations within the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi province, and stormy weather may develop in parts of the Terai and Madhesh regions.
Additionally, moderate rain and snowfall, along with thunder and lightning, are anticipated in various areas of Koshi and some hilly spots in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini regions, as well as in the Himalayas.
The forecast suggests that moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning could impact hilly areas in Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as parts of the Terai in Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in some areas of the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi province, with the possibility of heavy rain in select locations in Madhesh province.
Stormy conditions may also arise in the Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini, Forecasting Division said.
