Kathmandu, Oct 6: An Israeli NGO, “Heroes for Life”, embarks on a two-week mission (1-14 Oct) in Nepal, volunteering in five different schools in Kathmandu valley.
According to the Embassy of Israel in Nepal a delegation of 34 dedicated Israeli volunteers focuses on infrastructure and education in these schools. A reception was held at Ambassador’s residence in honor of volunteers and partner institutions on Thursday.
The volunteers will support Kathmandu’s Shanti Shiksha Mandir Thahinti, Nandi Ratri Mavi Naxal, Panchayan Celestial School Tokha, Narayan Jan Mavi Chandragiri-9 Machhegaon and Kitini Mavi Godavari, Lalitpur for two weeks.
Ambassador of Israel to Nepal Hanan Goder expressed his belief that the Israeli volunteers will help to strengthen the relationship between Israel and Nepal.
Volunteers from Heroes for Life organization have been volunteering to those schools every year.
Although diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel have been established for 63 years, Israeli volunteers started coming only 6 years back. Israeli volunteers are helping in 17 countries of the world, the Embassy said.
