Home Minister for making the anti-drugs campaign successful



Kathmandu, March 1: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has emphasized the need to expand the anti-drugs campaign nationwide to build a drug-free society.

At the launching ceremony of the anti-drug campaign carried out by the Valley Police Office in Kathmandu today, Home Minister Lekhak said that drugs are emerging as a threat to individuals, families and society as a whole. It is not just a matter of the government and the police it has become a matter of concern for the entire society.

He also stressed that it is necessary for the three levels of government to conduct a campaign to control abuse of drugs. “Various types of crimes are increasing in society and drugs are the source of many crimes.” Stating that it is necessary to launch a nationwide campaign against drugs, he said that the campaign should be expanded to the school level.

“I see the danger that a generation will be badly affected in 10 to 15 years,” he said. To build a drug-free society, it is necessary to make it nationwide and I instruct the police to carry out this campaign nationwide,” said Home Minister Lekhak. Everyone including all levels of government should take this forward as a campaign.
