Home Ministry forms five-member committee to probe Mahottari incident



The Home Ministry has formed a committee to probe the Mahottari incident that took place at Bhangaha Municipality-8 in Mahottari district in course of ‘Kalash Yatra’, a religious procession, on the occasion of Chhath festival.

The incident took place on October 27. The five-member probe team led by joint secretary at the ministry Shiva Ram Pokharel was formed acting on the ministry level decision, according to a statement issued on Friday. Other members of the committee are Deputy Inspector General of Police Umesh Raj Joshi, Deputy Inspector General, Armed Police Force, Kishor Pradhan, joint investigation director, the National Investigation Department, Bishnu Mani Acharya and undersecretary at the ministry, Bishworaj Marasini.

The committee has been mandated to submit a report within seven days, reads the statement. RSS
