
Kathmandu, May 14: The opening ceremony of the Seminar on Hospital Management for Belt and Road Countries was successfully held today in Shanxi Province, China. The event marks the beginning of a multi-day knowledge exchange program aimed at enhancing hospital operations, promoting healthcare innovation, and strengthening medical cooperation among participating nations.
Organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China and Human Resources Development Center of Shanxi Provincial Health Commission, the seminar brings together delegates from various Belt and Road partner countries, including a seven-member Nepali delegation.
Representing Nepal at the seminar are young and vibrant entrepreneurs as Sirjana Pandit, Sagar Sharma, Sudip Ghimire, Chin Bahadur Ghale, Rabindra Lamsal, Binod Kumar Acharya, and the delegation leader who delivered Nepal’s keynote address during the opening ceremony.
In the address, the Nepali delegation expressed sincere gratitude to the organizers and emphasized the strong historical and cultural ties between Nepal and China, particularly in the field of public health and traditional medicine. The speech highlighted the valuable support extended by China to Nepal over the years in areas such as hospital infrastructure development, medical education, equipment support, and digital health advancement.
The opening ceremony featured keynote remarks from distinguished Chinese officials and representatives of participating countries, setting a collaborative tone for the sessions ahead. The program will cover critical topics including graded healthcare management, integration of traditional and modern medical systems, and international hospital best practices.
The seminar not only aims to build technical capacity but also to foster people-to-people ties and long-term partnerships under the Belt and Road framework. Participants will also engage in site visits, cultural exchanges, and workshops throughout the program.
