House of Representatives meeting scheduled for 1:00 PM today

Kathmandu, June 11: The meeting of the House of Representatives has been scheduled for 1:00 PM today as well.

Opposition parties have been continuously obstructing parliamentary proceedings over the “visit visa” controversy. Since Jestha 13 (May 27), House meetings have been repeatedly postponed without proceeding to the regular agenda due to the disruptions. Despite multiple rounds of discussions among parties, no consensus has been reached so far.

The opposition parties, including CPN Maoist Centre, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), have been demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and forming of high-level judicial or parliamentary probe committee to investigate the “visit visa” issue.

The opposition parties have threatened to obstruct today’s meeting as well if they fail to forge consensus on visit visa scam.

According to parliamentary secretariat, in today’s meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel is expected to present a proposal to initiate a general discussion on the “Annual Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the Fiscal Year 2082/83 (2025/26)”.

Additionally, Ramhari Khatiwada, Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, is scheduled to table the committee’s report on the “Federal Civil Service Bill, 2082”. #nepal #parliament #house
