House of Representatives passes two bills, UML continue protest



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has passed, by a majority, the Finance Bill, 2021 and the Bill Related to Mobilizing Internal Loans, 2021.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma had presented a proposal in the meeting seeking passage of the two bills.

Before this, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota had read out a letter related to the formation of the Council of Ministers received from the Office of the President.

Secretary at the House of Representatives, Gopal Nath Yogi had informed the meeting on the message regarding the Appropriation Bill, 2021 received from the National Assembly.

The Lower House of the Federal Parliament will meet again at 2 pm on September 27.

HoR meeting commences amid protest by main opposition party

The meeting of the House of Representatives has commenced amid the protest by the main opposition CPN (UML).

UML lawmakers went up to the well to picket it soon after the Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota announced the start of the session.

The Speaker went ahead with the topics of the meeting agenda even as the main opposition party MPs continued the obstruction not heeding to the Speaker’s repeated requests for allowing the House to carry on its business.

Today’s meeting of the Lower House of the Federal Parliament has the agenda of holding discussions on and passing the Finance Bill, 2021 and the Bill Related to Mobilize Internal Loan, 2021.
