KATHMANDU, Dec 06: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) KP Sharma Oli has informed that he cannot participate to the Standing Committee by sending a letter. At a meeting of the NCP Standing Committee held at the party office, Dhumbarahi on Sunday, Secretariat member Ishwor Pokharel read out a letter from Chairman Oli.
In the letter, Oli has argued that he had already rejected the Prachand’s so-called political proposal. He said that he would not be able to participate in the discussion on the chargesheet that would lead the party to a split deal.
The NCP has been running in a letter war. On 7 November, five leaders, including Prachanda, wrote a two-page letter to Chairman Oli demanding a secretariat meeting. In response, Chairman Oli wrote a 10-page letter on 10 November.
Addressing the standing committee members, Oli said, “I have made it clear that the meeting should focus on completing the remaining work of party unification, preparing for the general convention and making the fight against covid effective.”
Meeting postponed for 7 days
Meanwhile, the meeting of the NCP Standing Committee has set the only one agenda of ‘internal problems of the party’.
Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha Prakash informed that the Standing Committee meeting will be held on December 13 after 7 days of homework.
According to him, the Central Committee meeting convened for December 10 has been shifted to December 16.
