‘I dreamt of becoming a teacher’, says PM Oli

Kathmandu : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he dreamt of becoming a teacher during his childhood.

In a conversation with children at a function held in the capital on Wednesday, Prime Minister Oli said as a child he also liked to play a lot, never lied and was always honest.

“It was unimaginable for a child of a normal peasant’s family to dream of becoming the Prime Minister of the country 68 years ago,” he said at the ‘Prime Minister with Children’ programme held at the Nepal Academy on Wednesday.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister responded to various queries and questions from children and students.

The children inquired with the Prime Minister about his childhood, his ambitions, political developments and other contemporary issues.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli suggested the children to work with a big goal and with honesty if you are to lead the government of the country some day. Prime Minister Oli was accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya.

“You can answer any question very easily, where can we get such comprehensive knowledge like you, “asked Pragyan Basnet, a student of Xavier International. Prime Minister Oli responded with a smile,

“The world is an ocean of knowledge, and we can only get a small percentage of it. It is not that I have all the knowledge but we need to acquire knowledge about the things that we need.”

The event was hosted by Nepal Scouts.
