ICC World Qualifier: Nepal sets a target of 269 runs against Ireland

Kathmandu, July 4: In the ongoing match for the seventh place under the ICC World Cup qualifiers, Nepal has set a target of 269 runs to Ireland for victory.

After losing the toss at Zimbabwe’s Takashinga Sports Club, Highfield, Nepal was invited to bat first and scored 268 runs losing 9 wickets in the scheduled 50 overs.

Gulshan Jha scored a half-century for Nepal. Gulshan completed his half-century in 41 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. He remained not out on 57 runs.

Similarly, opener Arjun Saud scored 48 runs with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Kushal Malla scored 44 runs with 5 fours and 2 sixes while captain Rohit Paudel was dismissed after scoring 29 runs. Sandeep Lamichhane added 32 runs while Bhim Sharki scored 20 runs. Similarly, opener Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed for 8 runs and Gyanendra Malla on 7 runs.

Ireland’s Barry McCarthy took 2 wickets for 63 runs with 1 maiden in 10 overs. Mark Adair and Craig Young took 2 wickets each while Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany and Andy McBrine took one wicket each.
