Kathmandu, Nov 20: General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Indian Army, is currently on a visit to Nepal.
He has arrived to receive the honorary title of “Maharathi” from the Nepalese Army. On November 21, President Ram Chandra Paudel will formally confer the honorary “Maharathi” rank upon him, as announced by the Nepalese Army.
This practice of granting the honorary “Maharathi” rank to the respective army chiefs of Nepal and India has been a longstanding tradition between the two nations. #nepal #army #president
