Kathmandu, Jan 5: Visiting Indian Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar, have met Nepali political leaders including Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday.
Issues relating to bilateral interest were discussed during the meeting, according to NC party office. Chief Secretary of NC party office, Krishna Prasad Paudel, informed that issues as strengthening two-country relations and promoting Indian assistance to Nepal’s development featured in the meeting.
Likewise, Minister Jaishankar called on CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman and former Prime Minister Madhav Kuamr Nepal on Thursday. On the occasion, matters related to bilateral interests were discussed during the meeting, former PM Nepal shared via social media.
He shared that issues relating to the possible areas of bilateral collaboration and mutual benefits were discussed in the meeting.
Minister Jaishankar also met with senior party leaders like Upendra Yadav, Mahant Thakur and CK Raut.
Earlier, the visiting Indian minister had courtesy calls with President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
Jaishankar had come to Nepal to attend the 7th Nepal-India joint commission meeting on Thursday itself.
He is returning home on Friday.
