Indian Foreign Secretary Kwatra calls on President, Prime Minister



Kathmandu, Feb 13: Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the Office of the President in Shital Niwas on Monday.

During the meeting, various matters of bilateral cooperation were discussed. On the occasion, President Bhandari said that Nepal and India have enjoyed socio-cultural relations since age-old times and highlighted various issues of bilateral relations, said Bhesraj Adhikari, the Chief Personal Secretary to the President.

She also expressed the belief that India was moving ahead as per the policy of ‘Neighborhood First’ and extended her best wishes to her Indian counterpart and the senior leadership of India, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Likewise, Secretary Kwatra also called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar, Kathmandu, on Monday evening.

During the meeting, Nepal-India cooperation in energy, trade, connectivity, agriculture, education and culture sectors were discussed, according to PM Dahal’s Secretariat.
