Kathmandu, Nov 18: Famous Indian lyricist Samir Anjan has been felicitated in Kathmandu. Today, Bollywood’s popular lyricist Sameer was felicitated by Lunakarandas Gangadevi Chaudhary Sahityakala Mandir and Song Writers Association of Nepal.
Sameer, who wrote his name in the Guinness Book of World Records for writing the most songs in the world, has written more than 4,000 songs for more than 650 different Indian films.
At the ceremony, lyricist Sameer said that he was very happy to be honored by coming to this land of Pashupatinath, a land of unique beauty of nature. He said that he will learn a lot from Nepal while narrating the feeling of singing a song while descending from the mountains and hills to Kathmandu.
Saying that he had composed a song while looking at the beautiful view of the Himalayas before coming down to Kathmandu, the lyricist Sameer also promised that the song would be very popular in Nepal and that he would write more for Nepal. He came to Nepal for the first time at the invitation of businessman Basanta Chaudhary.
He thanked the Song Writers Association of Nepal saying that he has received a lot of honor so far, but he felt happy to receive the honor of the one who understood the pain of the singer.
On that occasion, lyricist and writer Basanta Chaudhary said that Sameer Anjan’s name is very famous in the music field. He said that everyone who like Hindi movies and songs likes him. Basanta Bityasi Thapa, President of Song Writers Association of Nepal, said that the association has been honoring song writers at various times and thanked the Lunakarandas Gangadevi Chaudhary Literature Mandir for this opportunity to felicitate Sameer Anjan.
