Kathmandu, Sept 21: The spokesperson of the Nepali Congress, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, has emphasised that the party must remain united for the defence of democracy.

Organizing a press conference at his residence today, he accused that some groups intending to infiltrate during the demonstration by Gen-Z have attempted to attack democratic values.

“Even though there is no parliament, we have not opposed it; however, it (the government) must move ahead in a constitutional manner.

It could have been made more constitutional by actually having a parliament; it was not to be and there has been a flaw in that,” the NC spokesperson said.

He said there would be serious discussions and debates within the party about the current situation. Spokesman Dr Mahat stated that a democratic process and an elected government should be restored at the earliest possible.

He stated that arson at Singha Durbar, the Parliament building, the Supreme Court, the President’s Office, as well as at private homes and businesses in course of the Gen-Z demonstrations is regrettable and condemnable.#nepal #political #rss
