Mahottari, Jan 21: People from Jaralhawagachhi village of Matihani-6 in the district have been provided huge relief with the installation of deep tubewells. It has solved the problem of drinking water persisting in the village since the fire that occurred ten months back.
Six tubewells set up in the settlement came into operation on Monday, thereby ensuring easy access to drinking water for those who suffered much in the fire incident.
The facility was managed by Mahitahi municipality and the Ratauli Youth Club.
“It had been difficult for us to manage drinking water since the fire incident,” said Maimun Khatun, one of the fire survivors, adding, “After 10 months of the inferno, we got reliable facility to ensure basic need.”
As many as 103 houses of the Dalit settlement had turned into ashes in the fire occurred on April 14 last year.
Hasina Khatun shared happiness that with the installation of deep tubewells, they would no longer face the shortage of drinking water. “There is clean water in the tubewell. It is a huge relief to us,” she said, adding although the assistance was realized late, our pressing need was addressed with generous support from various sides.
Meanwhile, municipality mayor Hari Prasad Mandal expressed gratitude to the people and organizations taking initiatives to garner monetary support for the people reeling under water scarcity. The households can now access the drinking water within a minute.
Similarly, Ratauli Youth Club said it would continue efforts for further assistance to the households which suffered fire and were facing water scarcity in the settlement. #nepal #tubewell #rss
