International flights resume from Bhairahawa Airport

Bhairahawa, March 9: The second largest international airport of the country, Gautam Buddha International Airport, located in Bhairahawa, has resumed international flights from today.

Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways, which has been operating international flights from this airport, had suspended its flights since December 21, 2022 due to bad weather. Spokesperson of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Jagannath Niraula informed that Jazeera Airways plane which landed from Kuwait with 66 passengers this morning at 7:15 am took off with 99 passengers this morning at 8:15 am.

According to him, now that the sky has started to clear, Bhairahawa flight is easy and Jazeera will now fly regularly three days a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. According to CAAN, Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairawa, which is operated as an alternative to Tribhuvan International Airport, has a capacity of 30 to 40 flights per day.
