Kathmandu, March 25: Japan handed over a newly-built Health Post to Golanjor Rural Municipality in Sindhuli District.
The new building was built with grant assistance of USD 73,747 (approximately Rs 9.7 million), under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) of the Japanese Government and was implemented by the local NGO Sahakarya Nepal, Sindhuli.
This health post is an important medical service center in the community and provides free medical services. The old building was in danger of collapse and had to be rebuilt to ensure continuity of health care in the community. The newly constructed health post in Ward No.1 of Golanjor Rural Municipality is a reinforced concrete building equipped with an examination and administration room, a treatment room, a sick room, a reception and nurses’ station, a waste disposal room, a storage room and two toilets. It is expected to improve health services in this rural area and contribute to strengthening the health system in the region.
On this occasion, the Embassy of Japan expressed its appreciation to all those involved in the project and their efforts in working for the completion of the project. The Embassy hopes that the health post will become a community asset and serve the community residents, and that the support will contribute to further strengthening the friendship between the peoples of Japan and Nepal.
GGP was established to implement projects directly benefiting the people at the grassroots level for the socio-economic development of the country. Since 1991, over 200 GGP projects have been implemented in Nepal. #nepal #health #japan
