Jajarkot, Dec 12: Five people have died in a jeep accident in Jajarkot. According to the police, the accident occurred due to the vehicle’s brake failure.
Five people were killed when a double-cab Bolero jeep bearing the number G. 3. Ch. 9845 met with an accident on the Birakhola Kaina-Katke road section of Nalgad Municipality-3 at 11 pm last night.
The jeep, which was going from Kalimati to Nalgad-3 Karuwa, fell into a river about 700 meter below the road. Immediately after the jeep accident, 7 people including the driver were rescued by locals and police and brought to the Municipal Hospital Dalli for further treatment. Doctors declared 5 people dead immediately after the accident.
Those who died in the accident are Indrajit Thapa (driver), Shila Pun, 64, Sarada Thapa, 32, Laxmi Pun Roka, 17, and her 1-month-old son Alochan Roka, according to the District Police Office, Jajarkot.
Of the two injured, 21-year-old Jeevan Bikas is in stable condition and has been discharged after receiving treatment. Another injured 19-year-old Janak Thapa is undergoing treatment at the Municipal Hospital, Dalli.
