Judicial custody of Mahara extended by three days

Kathmandu, Oct 15 : The Kathmandu District Court has extended the judicial custody of outgoing Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara by three days.

A single bench of Justice Dipak Kumar Dahal allowed police to keep Mahara under judicial custody until October 18, according to records keeper at the court Ananda Prasad Shrestha.

Mahara was first remanded to judicial custody on October 6, after a woman employee of the Parliament Secretariat filed a complaint of sexual harassment against the then Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Mahara resigned soon after the woman alleged him of sexual assault. Mahara is under custody at the Metropolitan Police Range, Singha Durbar.
