Kathmandu, Mar 3: Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has assured justice for Prakriti Lamsal, a Nepali student who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Odisha, India.

Expressing condolences to Prakriti’s grieving parents and relatives in Bhairahawa on Monday, Minister Deuba, alongside Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, reiterated the government’s commitment to uncovering the truth behind her death and ensuring justice.

Minister Deuba emphasized that she has been actively pursuing diplomatic efforts to ensure a thorough investigation and legal action against those responsible. She shared that she had spoken with India’s Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi last week regarding the case and had previously discussed the matter with the state’s Education Minister immediately after the incident.

“I have urged the Indian government through diplomatic channels to take strict legal action against the culprits,” she assured Prakriti’s parents. “Both the Home Minister and I will leave no stone unturned in securing justice for her.”

She further informed that Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi are in constant communication with the Odisha government, university administration, and Indian security officials to coordinate the necessary actions.
