
Kathmandu, Feb 27: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is set to organize the “Kathmandu Educational Fair 2081” on February 28 and 29 at the National Assembly Hall in Exhibition Road.
KMC spokesperson Nabin Manandhar stated that the fair aims to showcase the impact of various educational programs introduced to enhance academic results and learning environments in public schools. The event will feature student presentations and exhibitions demonstrating the knowledge and skills they have acquired.
He emphasized that the fair will serve as a milestone in educational innovation and upgradation while providing insights for future programs through collaborative efforts with schools and educational organizations.
KMC has been introducing various programs in community schools to make education more scientific, practical, and aligned with students’ interests and parental expectations.
According to Acting Education Officer Keshav Gyawali, the fair will cover various aspects of educational quality improvement, including students’ academic, physical, mental, and character development, school infrastructure, and teacher capacity building.
Fair Highlights
-Innovative Learning Displays: Students will demonstrate new learning activities through exhibitions.
-Book-Free Friday Stalls: 35 educational subgroups will present learning outcomes and interests through dedicated stalls.
-Cultural Exhibitions: Displays will feature Nepal Bhasa learning methods, traditional culture, attire, and performances in music and singing.
-Student Mock Parliament: A major attraction will be a model parliamentary session for students.
-Scientific Demonstrations: Includes water quality testing (Maruhiti water project) and technology-based learning exhibitions.
-Art & Creativity: Over 1,000 sketches and sculptures will depict students’ experiences and insights.
-Teacher Development: Best practices for improving academic results will be shared through teacher training programs.
-Information Center: A dedicated section will provide updates on KMC’s educational initiatives.
Kathmandu Metro area has 87 community schools with 61,329 students and 524 institutional schools with 210,934 students, totaling 272,263 students.
KMC has implemented long-term education plans, including the “Education for Livelihood” program, the “Beautiful School Project,” and the “Creative Schools” initiative.
