Kathmandu, July 15: The government has appointed Khagaraj Sharma as the Chairman of the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held on Monday evening at Baluwatar.
Sharma has been appointed for a four-year term.
Prior to his appointment, a recommendation committee led by the Chairman of the Public Service Commission had shortlisted three candidates: former Secretary Arjun Pokharel, former Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Narayan Prasad Paudel, and Sharma himself.
Before this appointment, Sharma served as the Member Secretary of the National Cooperative Board. It is believed that Mr Sharma was politically close to CPN UML. #nepal #cooperative
