KMC police behaving rudely with street vendors punished

Kathmandu, July 11: The municipal police of Kathmandu Metropolitan City has taken action against the KMC police personnel who behaved rudely and inhumanely with the street vendors.

Chief of KMC Police, Rajunath Pandey, shared that seven police personnel working on a contract basis have been removed from their jobs while five who are in permanent service have been suspended. They were punished for behaving rudely and inhumanely with street vendors at various times within the metropolitan city.

Though the police personnel were directed to not behave indecently, the city police who acted indecently and inhumanly without following the order and were found to have been in a fault based on complaints from the public, were punished.

Pandey said that departmental action has been taken against 12 city police persons. A training is being organized in order to prevent the recurrence of such acts towards the street vendors.
