Biratnagar, June 22: Discussion on the annual budget of fiscal year 2026/27 is underway in today’s meeting of Koshi Province Assembly.
Discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure of the provincial government is underway after Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Bidur Kumar Lingthep, presented the proposal seeking commencement of the discussion.
Taking part in the discussion, Koshi PA member Prem Raj Thamsang, expressed the view that the tax policy imposed in health and education would hit hard the marginalized community.
Ensuring the budget sources is the responsibility of the government. He further said dozens of tea industries of Nepal have been closed due to obstruction of Indian government in tea export, more than 50,000 tea workers are about to lose their jobs and team farmers are in problems.
So government should settle this issue by holding diplomatic discussion.
Similarly, Gita Devi Regmi expressed happiness, saying the budget would help good governance and promote people’s living standard.
Khadga Bahadur Basnet and Dolma Tamang mentioned that the arrangements made for drinking water in the budget would most benefit Koshi folks.
Rajendra Kumar Rai, Nimsari Rajbanshi and Kamal Jabegu, argued that the budget of the coming fiscal year drew government’s attention on various issues. #nepal #rss
