KATHMANDU: Kumari Bank Limited has expanded its easy and secure QR Code payment service from mobile phones in Lalitpur-based Gwarko Vegetable and Fruit Bazaar.
Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan and Chief Executive Officer of Kumari Bank Surendra Bhandari handed over the QR stand to the vegetable traders.
Kumari Bank Limited has been promoting digital technology that allows QR payments through its mobile app as an alternative to cash transactions. “Payments under this QR system have the advantages of not having to carry cash, there is no possibility of losing / stealing cash, and you can make payments directly from your bank account,” said Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer of Kumari Bank.
As the number and access of QR code payment merchants is increasing day by day, the bank is confident that the system will become an excellent and reliable means of cashless transactions.
The bank has also been conducting awareness programs on digital transactions from time to time to increase the reliability of digital payments and further encourage cashless transactions.
So far, Kumari Bank has connected more than 7,300 subscribers to the Fonepay QR digital payment.
Kumari Bank has been providing state-of-the-art banking facilities from its 192 branch network, 162 ATMs, 25 branchless banking units and 13 extension counters across the country and is committed to strengthening digital infrastructure for more accessible and better services in the days to come, the bank states.
