Law enforcement body collects over Rs. 500 thousand in fine in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 5: In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,813 drivers were fined for breaking traffic rules. More than Rs 500 thousand was collected in fine from the drivers who violated traffic rules.

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office reported that among those penalized, nine individuals were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, 105 were for improper ride-sharing practices, 119 for ignoring traffic signals, and 115 for over speed.

Additionally, 102 drivers failed to adhere to lane discipline, 79 honked in restricted areas, 117 parked in road boxes, 65 drove on one-way lane. Similarly, 1,110 were taken action for various other traffic violations.
