Kathmandu, Nov 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that a law will be formulated to properly manage the poor, helpless, orphaned, people with disabilities and the vulnerable people. The bill will be tabled in the upcoming session of the federal parliament, he said.
Addressing the closing ceremony of ‘Mechi Mahakali National Rescue Campaign 2080’ organized by Manav Sewa Ashram here on Monday, Prime Minister Dahal also assured that the federal, provincial and local governments will take the necessary initiatives and coordinate to allocate projects and budgets from their respective levels to manage people forced to live in the streets.
He expressed the commitment to provide necessary support to Manav Sewa Ashram in essential services including by providing public land, use of buildings and construction of structures, and rescue vehicles. Lauding the spirit of human service and the role played by the Ashram, Prime Minister Dahal wished for the success of the campaign.
Expressing gratitude to those involved in the campaign, the Prime Minister assured that the government is with the Ashram in this campaign.
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, CPN (UML) Vice President Bishnu Paudel, singer Ani Choyng Dolma, comedian Manoj Gajurel and others were present in the program.
According to the Ashram, the Mechi Mahakali National Rescue Campaign was conducted in major cities of the country starting from October 13 to November 19. During the campaign, 300 people living in street were rescued.
