Leader Hridayesh Tripathi has formed a separate party, and applied to the Election Commission for registration of Janata Pragatisheel Party (People’s Progressive Party) under his chairmanship.
Tripathi, along with a 30-member working committee, submitted the application to the Election Commission on Friday, said Ishwar Dayal Mishra, General Secretary of the party.
He said that the application was registered with the party’s statute, manifesto and other necessary documents including the signature of the working committee members. He said, “15 out of 30 leaders have been identified before the EC officials. The remaining 15 will be identified on Sunday.”
However, Chairman Tripathi has not provided election symbol to Election Commission. The Election Commission had asked to select one of the three symbols, but Chairman Tripathi said that he would give the symbol later.
Dr. Shivaji Yadav is the Senior Vice President of the party. Similarly, Harka Lal Singh Rajbanshi, Mohammad Sabbir Hussain and Farhan Akwal Khan are the other three Vice Presidents.
The General Secretaries are Ishwar Dayal Mishra and Dr. Bharat Kumar Thapa. Likewise, Baba Sarkar Shrestha, Hem Shankar Singh ‘Rajput’, Shyam Thapa, Devendra Kishore Dhuganna, Uma Tiwari, Ramchandra Sutiyar Sharma, Shriman Narayan Mishra, Shobha Tripathi, Geeta Bhusal, Shyam Krishi Adhikari, among others have been nominated as Central Members.
Tripathi and his team contested the previous general election under the symbol of CPN UML. However, he didn’t formally enter and assimilate with the CPN UML.
