Kathmandu, April 22: Senior leader Mukunda Neupane, who left the CPN (Unified Socialist), has joined the CPN UML.
On the occasion of the 75th foundation day of CPN, leaders-activists, including leader Neupane, were reunited into UML in a special ceremony held at UML Central Office, Chyasal. Neupane has recently left the Madhav Kumar Nepal led CPN (Unified Socialist).
CPN (U S) leaders Chudamani Jungli, Muna Baniya, Shanta Acharya, Mahaprasad Subedi, Nareshwar Dayal Gyawali, Harikumar Shrestha, Chabilal Paudel, Toran Bahadur KC, Maya Adhikari, Dal Bahadur KC, Bhimkant Pokharel, Khemraj Acharya, Chandrakishore Gautam, Devi Giri, Chandra Prasad Gurung, and other leaders Lal Singh Ghatane, Hark Bahadur Gurung, Bikas Tamang, Saroj Ghalan, Walbo Tamang, Sukman Tamang, Harkaman Tamang and dozens of other leaders have joined UML.
Leader Neupane was welcomed by CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Senior Vice President Ishwar Pokharel, General Secretary Shanker Pokharel and others.
Leader Neupane earlier left the CPN UML and formed new party as CPN (Unified Socialist) under the chairmanship of Madhav Kumar Nepal. He was one of the senior-most leader in CPN (Unified Socialist). In recent times, many leaders and cadres from CPN (US) have been leaving the party and joining the CPN UML again.
According to sources, many other leaders will be joining CPN UML. It will put Chairman Madhav Nepal in a bitter situation.
