Local admin imposed curfew orders in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur



Kathmandu, Sept 9: The Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) has issued a curfew order in the Ring Road area of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Chhabilal Rijal issued the curfew order from 8:30 am today until further notice. The curfew has been imposed in response to demonstrations organized by ‘Gen Z’ groups that unleashed anarchy.

The DAO issued the curfew order from the Balkumari bridge area to Koteshwor Chowk, Sinamangal, Gaushala, Chabhil, Narayangopal Chowk, Gonggabu, Balaju, Swyambhu, Kalanki, Bagmati river bridge in Kathmandu.

During the curfew period, all movements, gatherings, demonstrations, rallies, meetings, and picketing are strictly prohibited within the specified areas.

Likewise, the local administrations of Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have issued separate curfew orders in sensitive areas, including the ministerial residence in Bhainsepati, the Nepali Congress party headquarters in Sanepa, the CPN-UML office in Cyasal, Lalitpur, and the private residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Bhaktapur.

However, many people have gathered in Baneshwor area defying the curfew order.

With the indiscriminate and rampant police firing, a total of 19 youths have lost their lives sustaining bullet wounds  and more than four hundred injured youths have been admitted in different hospitals for treatment.  According to reports, some of them are in critical condition. #nepal #curfew
