Madhav Nepal elected PP leader of CPN (Unified Socialist)

Kathmandu: Former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has been elected the Parliamentary Party (PP) leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) unopposed.

A meeting today of the party’s House of Representatives (HoR) members took a decision to provide leader Nepal with the responsibility.

Likewise, Rajendra Prasad Pandey was picked as the deputy PP leader while Prakash Jwala is named as the chief whip of the CPN (Unified Socialist). Pandey is the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province.

The party has 10 members in the HoR. After his election to the PP leader, Nepal said that he would play role to make his party vibrant to institutionalise people’s aspiration for the social transformation in the country.

Meanwhile, the party has taken a policy to unite fringe communist and leftist forces, and others sharing common political ideology.
