Mahat urges NRNs to utilize skills, knowledge in Nepal’s development



Kathmandu, Oct 14 : Joint general secretary of the Nepali Congress, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has urged the non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) to utilize the skill and knowledge they have earned abroad for the development of their home country, Nepal.

He made this appeal while addressing a tea reception he hosted today at his house for the NRN Association delegates who have arrived in Kathmandu in connection with the Non Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) general convention.

Dr Mahat, who is also the former Minister for Foreign Affairs, reminded the NRNs not to forget their responsibility towards their mother land in whichever country they might be residing in.

He added that the Nepalis who are acattered throughout the world and engaged in various professions, business, employment or higher studies have their unique identity in those countries as well.

“It would contribute much to the country’s development if the skills and knowledge you have earned while living in these countries for the development of the motherland.”

Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Pudel, general secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka, central member Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, NC parliamentary party chief whip Bal Krishna Khand and leader of the main opposition party in the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament, Surendra Raj Pandey were among the leaders present on the occasion.

NRNA former presidents Jiwa Lamichhane and Shesh Ghale as well as the Association office-holders and representatives attended the tea reception.
