Mahout killed in tiger attack in Bardiya

Bardiya, Nov 5 : A mahout has died from tiger attack inside the Bardiya National Park. The deceased has been identified as Mangaru Tharu, 42, of Mohanpur of Thakurbaba municipality-7.

Conservation officer of National Trust for Nature Conservation of the Bardiya National Park, Rabin Kadariya, said that the tiger had attacked Tharu near the ‘rhino watch tower’ inside the Park at a time when he had gone to collect grass.  

Tharu had been working at the Park’s elephant shelter for 22 years.
