Bagmati, July 17: The Bagmati Province government has accorded its priority to the expansion of specialized healthcare services in the province.
Various specialized health services have been launched in various within the province along with the further expansion of treatment facilities.
According to Bagmati Province Health Minister Kiran Thapa Magar, additional 22 dialysis machines have been lately provided to Bhaktapur Hospital, Dhading Hospital, Trishuli Hospital, Bakulhar Ratnanagar Hospital and Hetauda Hospital under the Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences.
As per the province government’s commitments to provide an additional monetary assistance of up to Rs 50,000 for the cancer treatment, the announcement has been implemented by signing an agreement to this regard with 18 hospitals in the province.
Likewise, the programme of providing subsidy to heart-attack patients has been continued.
Specialist services for neurological health issues, including ‘stroke management’ have been launched at Bhaktapur Hospital, specialist services for heart disease are also available at the Hetauda Hospital under the Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences.
Specialist health care services have also been expanded Dhading and Sindhuli hospitals by mobilizing specialist resident doctors in collaboration with the Patan Institute of Health Sciences.
Additionally, dedicated wards for mental health have been established with the launch of impatient services at Chautara Hospital in Sindhupalchowk and Hetauda Hospital in Makawanpur, while Alzheimer’s related services are being provided from Bhaktapur Hospital.
An integrated public health and nutrition promotion campaign has been launched in remote areas across all 13 districts of the province, and various health services have been provided through specialist health camps. Specialist Ayurveda services have also been provided through Ayurveda and alternative clinics.
“Various initiatives have been implemented to increase the effectiveness of healthcare services in the province,” the Minister said, adding that citizens’ convenient access to specialized healthcare facilities is the priority of the government. #nepal #rss
