KATHMANDU : The participants in the central committee meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre) have stressed the need for wiping out organizational anarchy which they said has plagued the party.
Although the party statute has provided that party picks office bearers as senior vice-chairperson, vice-chairperson, general secretary, secretary and treasurer, it has not been implemented in practice. The leaders speaking in the meeting demanded the leadership that it implemented the provisions of the party statute.
Bagmati Province Chairperson of the party, Saral Sahayatri Poudel, said clear work plan is necessary to give final shape to the central working committee and departments.
In the beginning of the meeting that kicked off at Kamaladi on Sunday, Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ administered the oath of office and secrecy to the central members nominated in the committee. He informed that the CC meeting was pondering nine agendas.
While presenting details on provinces, chairperson of province committee, Jagat Simkhada, lambasted the party policy of electoral alliance. He worried that forging alliance would efface party identity. He blamed that NC took advantage of alliance made for the May 13 local level election. He sought honesty from the alliance partners in terms of election.
Chairperson Prachanda presented a brief 10-page political report in the meeting which included the policy, plan and programmes the party should adopt for the coming days.
In the report, Prachanda argued that the political forces which tried to corner Maoist Centre in the election were themselves defeated. It is the signal that Maoist Centre would emerge powerful party again. “Realizing the election message, we need to devote to making next election more successful,” he added.
He however said the existing alliance would be strengthened to ensure more seats in the coming federal and provincial elections.
Presenting the fact that the present changes were made possible due to the base of people’s war and integration of the people’s movements, the meeting concluded that Chairperson Prachanda should prepare outline for ‘New Nepal’ that is prosperous and developed on the basis of social justice.
Prachanda’s report stated that manifesto for upcoming election would be prepared after holding consultations with experts.
Furthermore, the report also included agendas such as issuing manifestos in provinces and federal level for upcoming provincial and federal elections in people’s participation, collecting and analysing data related to constituency, mobilizing all central members for election with distinct division of works and winning the election as per people’s expectations after mobilizing organizations.
Chairperson Prachanda, in the meeting, hinted at prospects of electoral alliances, unity and cooperation among the leftists parties in a new way. He appraised the meeting that general discussions were held towards that end as well.
The report also incorporates issues, such as protecting constitution and collaborating with the forces protesting regressive force and calling for convention of the women organization and youth organization of the party, such as Young Communist League (YCL) among others.
He mentioned that his party was the most sincere ones when it came to forging alliances. According to him, the fascination towards his party was intact in rural areas.
