Kathmandu: The first match between Nepal and the home team Namibia in the ICC World Cricket League-2 triangular ODI series has been canceled due to rain.
The match was stopped due to rain while Namibia was batting in reply, chasing the winning target of 198 runs given by Nepal. The match was canceled after the rain did not stop when Namibia scored four runs in four balls.
Batting first, Gyanendra Malla contributed the most 75 runs for Nepal at the Namibia’s Wanderers Cricket Ground. He played 94 balls and contributed 75 runs with the help of seven fours and two sixes.
Similarly, Arjun Saud and Gulsan Jha added 18/18 runs, while Asif Sheikh scored 20 runs. Captain Rohit Paudel was run out for 10 runs. Kushal Bhurtel got out for 13 and Sompal Kami got out for 10 runs.
Tangeni Langameni of Namibia took three wickets and Karl Birkenstock took two wickets.
Both teams have shared one point each.
In this series, there will be competition between Nepal, Namibia and Scotland. Nepal will play the second match against Scotland on December 4.
