Kathmandu, Oct 1: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the American project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Alice Albright has arrived in Kathmandu.
She landed in Kathmandu Sunday evening during her five-day visit to Nepal.
According to officials at US Embassy in Kathmandu, she will take stock of the MCC project in Nepal and meet senior political leaders including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
The MCA-Nepal has already come into force (EIF). The project’s duration is five years from the date of official inauguration.
However, Nepal MCA has been facing stiff challenge on acquiring land for the projects, particularly along the hydropower transmission line.
Nepal will be receiving US$ 500 million MCC grant to construct power transmission line and upgrading the roads.
