Kathmandu, May 25: Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said coordination and cooperation among the bodies concerned with a clear vision is warranted for the development and prosperity of the nation.
While inaugurating the third series of the photo expedition organised by the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) on the occasion of the Republic Day-2082 BS here today, the Minister who also serves as the Spokesperson for the government talked about the lack of smartness in the legal and systematic proceedings to advance development and prosperity.
Underlining the need of giving top priority to the development and enhancement of IT sector that is directly linked with the development, expansion and promotion of the country’s overall sector including agriculture and tourism, the Minister stressed the need of sufficient allocation of budget the Ministry, drawing the attention of the National Planning Commission and the Finance Ministry towards that end.
In the inaugural session of the event themed ” Mountain tourism: Our Pride, Our Identity”, the Minister was of the view that tourism remains as a significant area for opening avenues for national prosperity. “However, nation plans capable of connecting the tourism with the prosperity of the nation are lacking.” He stressed the need of formulating and implementing the development plans as per the need basis of the country.
According to the Minister, the communications facility such as telephone and internets are needed to be further extended and strengthened also reaching to the mountainous regions for the convenience of tourists.
He further highlighted the need of further branding mountains and Lumbini, the birthplace of Gatuam Buddha, to promote the country’s tourism sector.
“Mountains and Lumbini are the significant heritages of Nepal,” he said and insisted on cooperation between the Communication and Information Technology Ministry and the Ministry of the Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to achieve the goals.#nepal #political #rss
