Gandaki, July 18: Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun has pledged to make efforts to control the landslide at Phaparkhet along the Beni-Darbang road section in Myagdi district. Minister Pun made the pledge after an inspection visit to the road project on Saturday.
“Rs 40 million has been allocated for landslide control from the federal government in the current fiscal year,” Minister Pun said, expressing hope that the issue would be resolved within a year.
The site has witnessed landslides for three decades, affecting residents of Mangala, Malika and Dhaulagiri rural municipalities in the district.
Furthermore, Minister Pun also inquired about measures taken to control landslides at Baiseri along the Beni-Jomsom road section of the Kaligandaki corridor.
He further took stock of the under-construction provincial hospital in the district and vowed to make efforts to ensure it is equipped with specialists and equipment. #nepal #rss
