Minister Yadav urges Saudi Arabia to postpone implementation of SVP for Nepali migrant workers

Kathmandu, June 27: Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Nepal, Fahd Mohammad Ajmi Mnikhr, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment, Ramji Yadav.

During the meeting, the Minister made a special request to the Government of Saudi Arabia to postpone the implementation of the Skill Verification Process (SPV) meant for Nepali workers.

He also made a special urge that the visa application process of Nepali migrant workers should not be affected by such procedures, urging the unhindered progress of their visa processing.

Stating that Nepali workers planning to go for jobs in Saudi Arabia are facing difficulties due to confusion regarding the Skill Verification Process, the Minister urged the creation of an atmosphere that does not hamper employment opportunities for Nepali workers.

He stressed that all issues related to SVP should be addressed through a mechanism based on bilateral consultation and consensus.

In response, the Ambassador said that the Embassy would update the Ministry about this after consultations with the Saudi Arabia Government, according to the Minister’s Secretariat. #nepal #rss
