Ministry seeks suggestions from public on Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts



Kathmandu, June 12: The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has asked the general public for their opinion on the draft bill designed to amend some Nepal Acts.

The ministry’s spokesperson Dal Bahadur Adhikari said that the ministry requested the public through a notice on Thursday to provide feedback within a week in the specified language and format on the amendments to 20 different acts.

The laws for which opinions on amendments were sought include the Employees’ Provident Fund Act, 1962, the Land (Survey) Act, 1962, the Land Related Act, 1964, the Education Act, 1971 amendment, the Land Revenue Act, 1987 amendment, the Technical Education and Vocational Training Council Act, 1988, the Citizen Investment Trust Act, 1990, and the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology Act, 1991.

Similarly, public opinion has been sought on the Civil Service Act, 1992 amended, the University Grants Commission Act,  1968, the Health Service Act,  1996 amended, the Foreign Employment Act, 2007 the Federal Parliament Secretariat Act,2007, the Enforced Disappearance Inquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act,  2014, the Contribution-Based Social Security Act,  2017, and the National Medical Education Act, 2018.

Also, the general public has been asked for their opinion on the amendments to the Land Use Act, 2019, the Forest Act 2019, the Insurance Act  2022, and the Legislative Act 2024.
