Kathmandu, July 25: A book by Dr Ram Dayal Rakesh, Mithilaka Mahan Chadprava (the great festivals of Mithila) was released on Thursday amid a function in the capital city.
Releasing the book, former Head of Department of History and Archeology of Tribhuvan University Som Prasad Khatiwada said the writer has well described the cultures and festivals of Dashain, Bata Savitri and others of the Mithila region.
Khatiwada said that the book helps inform the readers about the festivals of Mithila and the entire Mithila region.
On the occasion, Executive Chair of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) Dharmendra Jha said Dr Rakesh has made significant contributions to spreading the culture and civilization of Mithila at the international level.
He said that Dr Rakesh would have received established prizes like Madan Puraskar and Jagadamba Puraskar if we had treated the literature of all languages equally.
Publisher Kamal Dhakal, Badri Maskey and former member secretary of Nepal Academy Jibendra Dev Giri also expressed their views about the newly-published book. #rss #nepal #Mithila
