Monk Bhikkhu Pannakara visits Swoyambhu Mahachaitya



Kathmandu, June 15: Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara and a monastic delegation undertaking a global peace pilgrimage visited the sacred Swayambhu Mahachaitya on Monday, offering prayers and reaffirming their commitment to promoting peace, compassion and harmony among all beings.

The delegation is currently traveling across different countries through peace walks and pilgrimages aimed at spreading the universal message of non-violence, friendship and mutual understanding inspired by the teachings of the Buddha.

Accompanying the monks was ALOKA, internationally known as the “Peace Dog,” whose presence has become a symbol of friendship, kindness and peaceful coexistence throughout the group’s global journey.

During their visit, the delegation paid homage at the historic Mahachaitya and offered prayers for global peace, emphasizing the values of compassion, unity and understanding at a time of growing global challenges.

Representatives of the Swayambhu Mahachaitya welcomed the visiting monks and expressed appreciation for their efforts to spread the message of peace across the world. They said the visit serves as an inspiration for people to embrace the Buddha’s teachings and work collectively for harmony among all beings.

The delegation is expected to continue its international peace pilgrimage, carrying its message of compassion and coexistence to communities around the world. #nepal #monk
