NA meeting: Emphasis laid on allocation of budget addressing the existing problems

Kathmandu, March 15: Today’s National Assembly (NA) meeting has passed the proposal presented seeking consideration on ‘Secured Transaction (first amendment) Bill-2080’.

The NA unanimously passed the bill presented by Finance Minister Barshaman Pun. Responding the queries raised by NA members on the bill, Finance Minister Pun said the bill was presented to utilize the impacts and trends of globalization and information technology and has set an objective of making transaction safe and more transparent.

Before this, participating in the discussion on principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the coming fiscal year 2081/82, the NA members laid emphasis on the need of bringing the budget addressing the reality of the country.

Taraman Swar urged the Finance Minister to determine the priorities keeping the country’s situation in mind.

Similarly, Ananda Prasad Dhungana laid emphasis on managing budget with the aim of uplifting agro sector and making the country self-dependent on agro products, urging the government to put irrigation projects on special priority.

Lawmaker Bamdev Gautam complained that the projects that can be completed within one year were not included in the principles and priorities of the budget. He pointed out the need of improvement in the economic, governance and electoral system of the country, saying the system remains the same despite of big political changes in the country.

Shree Krishna Adhikari underscored on the need of the principles and priorities of the budget to figure out the dire needs of the country’s economy.

Lawmakers Bimala Ghimire, Udaya Bahadur Bohara, Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav, Tul Prasad Bishwakarma, Nara Bahadur Bishta, Kiran Babu Shrestha, Indira Devi Gautam, Ghanshyam Rijal, Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, Ganga Kumari Belbase, Sumitra BC, Bishnu Devi Pudasaini, Renu Chand, Sharada Devi Bhatta, Bishnu Kumari Sapkota, Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma, Padam Bahadur Pariyar, Radheshyam Paswan, among others, stressed that the budget for the next fiscal year should address the country’s ground reality. #Nepal
