Kathmandu, Nov 17: The Election Commission (EC) has released the schedule for the National Assembly election, which is set to take place on January 24, 2026.

According to the approved programme, the voter list will be published on January 3 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the review of claims, objections, and complaints. The final voter list will be published between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm on January 6.

EC spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai stated that the nomination of candidates will take place on January 7 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Objections to nominations can be filed on January 8 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Candidates may withdraw their nominations on January 11 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the final list of candidates published between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm the same day.

Election symbols will be distributed on January 12 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The Commission has stated that voting to elect 18 members of the National Assembly will be held on January 24, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, at designated polling stations. #nepal #election
