RAJBIRAJ: National identity card distribution has started in Saptari district. Chief District Officer (CDO) Shankar Hari Acharya handed over national identity cards to 14 people on the first day of the program organized by the National Identity Card Management Unit under the District Administration Office.
On the occasion, CDO Acharya said that the national identity card scheme has been introduced with the objective of making the government service faster and more effective. The Government of Nepal has started this work with the objective of safely storing the biological and personal details of every Nepali.
He informed that a total of 27,866 people have entered their data in the district for the national identity card.
According to the District Administration Office, currently the details of the citizens are being collected and registered through a team deployed in Balan-Bihul village municipality and Bodebarsain municipality.
