Kathmandu: Chairman CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said that there is a popular wave in favor of the left-democratic alliance across the country. Addressing a mass meeting held in Dandapauwa of Kathmandu Constituency No. 9 today, he claimed that the candidates of the alliance are sure to win.

“When Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba and I went to address election rallies across the country, we found a wave of people in favor of the alliance,” he said.

Stating that the alliance was formed for national unity, peace and prosperity, he expressed the commitment that the alliance will protect, develop and prosper the constitution after the election. Prachanda said the focus of the coalition will be on development and prosperity while describing the elections are a battle between progressive and regressive forces.

He also said that the coalition needs to win so that we don’t have to protest against regression again. Though left-wing alliance was formed in the previous elections for political stability and economic prosperity the people’s expectations for it could not be met because of then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Oli who was even against our demand for a Constituent Assembly actually worked to reverse the achievements including federalism, republicanism and inclusiveness after coming to power.
